Prague PicturesPage 2Page 3First of all these pictures do not do Prague and justice. Half the places I went to I could not take pictures in and to make matters worse my camera does not really work at night
If you go to Prague bring a guidebook. I cannot stress this enough. Most of the major tourist sites are badly laid out. Without a good guidebook (Eyewitness publishes the best books IMO), you can easily miss many great sites
I am a bit humbled by the fact that most people in Prague can speak English and often Russian and German. I am lucky I speak English and sometimes take that for granted. I went on a tour group with two Russians and two Germans. The six of us could not talk to each other. With the amount of Russian I took I should be able to speak it easily. I was soo out of practice I gave up trying to speak to them after awhile. Our tour guide spoke all three languages.
I did not visit the bone monastery place but instead decided to walk around Petrin Park and check out the Strahov Monastary. I looked it up on the internet and this place looks very cool, oh well. I did really enjoy the park trip but I think I missed out on
this place.
As seems to always be my luck our flight home was cancelled and we were forced to spend the night in NYC at our own expense of course. I am also still waiting for my luggage to be found. Even with these two setbacks I could not have asked for a better trip. I would say we walked 8-10 miles a day and never once had to use the metro. Everything can be walked to for the most part. This was the major reason I chose Prague. We took one tour to a local castle mostly because I wanted to see what a real castle looked like. (I know Prague castle is the largest in the world but I wanted to see a more traditional castle.)
