Christmas in Maine 2004

Another Christmas. It is Christmas morning and for once I actually have some time.
My parents got a dog yesterday, a 7 week old Shitz Zu.

Just a quick post before I go play dodgeball. I haven't been doing much with the site lately but hopefully that will change. With tax season coming up I'll have less and less time.

Red sox got Edger Renteria. Thats pretty cool and the fact he played for Maine for awhile is also nice. David Wells? I dunno about that. Seems like they overpaid. Pedro is gone and Lowe and Veritek may be next. This will be a differemt Red Sox team. Saw a Christmas Carol last night. This was like the 5th year in a row but it still is a good time. Dinner beforehand was at Katahdin which was also nice.

My aunt and I were at dinner and she and her friend were telling me some interesting dog stories. One dog her roomate had while she lived in Boston was a big fan of ice cream. He would go every day in downtown Boston to the local Baskin Robbins. Once there he would bark at the people working there until they gave him a doggie bowl of ice cream. He would take the ice cream and go back to his house. Eventually this became a big event and the Baskin Robbins store put up pictures of the dog and promoted his ice cream runs. People would come to see the dog come for his daily ice cream. Eventually a large crowd would gather.

Another dog was called the hitchiker. He was a fisherman's dog near where my aunt has her boat. Every morning he would go out with the fisherman and then get off at one of the local islands. He would spend the day begging for food off the people using the islands to picnic on. There are quite a few islands that the owners allow boaters on. Eventually he would catch a boat ride back to the coast and walk back to the owner's house.

This guy went to the doctor's to see if they could help him with his headache problem. Apparantly this was stuck in his head for four years but he never knew it. He was injured then in a construction injury. All I have to say is sorry guy.
