Netflix
After receiving yet another broken disk I decided to stop using Netflix. Here is a once good company gone bad. Their stock has gone up quite a bit proving that this is a business model that works and is able to turn a nice profit. The problem is they are adding to their profits at the cost of losing customers. I do not really blame them from a business standpoint, but as a customer it is time to move on and try Blockbuster.
I had noticed the last few months that it takes 2-3 months to receive any popular new release. I am actually waiting for quite a few after over three months. I also had noticed that they seemed to cap how many movies I received per month even though it is supposed to be unlimited. A couple of weeks ago Netflix admitted, after being sued, that they do in fact limit the amount of films one subscriber can receive and put the more active customers in the back of the line for movies. I was excited that after two months my copy of Wedding Crashers was finally shipped. I then thought to myself "wait a second, I can go to Blockbuster and get that movie the day it is out."
My sister even tested Netflix, She is not very active but has a friend who is. They would order the same movie at the same time. She would receive her copy well before he received his.
That practice with the fact that the Portland Maine postal carriers like to break the disks or try to fold them and jam them into your mailbox is reason enough to cancel my subscription.
